The Family Resource Schools Program, commonly known as FRS, offers before and after school enrichment and intervention programs throughout the school year. Most classes meet from 3:00 to 4:05 pm and cost between $45 and $100 per session depending on class. Classes are free for students who particpate in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Scholarships are available for families needing financial assistance. After school buses are available at 4:05 pm.
Before School Homework Club
The homework club meets Monday – Friday from 7:30 – 8:15 am. Students receive homework help and academic assistance in this program. The program is free of charge.
Afterschool Intervention and Enrichment Classes
Class sign ups are distributed several weeks before the first session and are on a first come, first serve basis. These classes are divided into two sessions per academic year:
Fall: 10-week program from September – November
Winter/Spring: 12-week program from January 27 – May 1
Intervention Classes: The afterschool intervention program is designed to provide additional learning opportunities for students who need to improve their grade proficiency. Students are chosen by their classroom teachers to participate in this program. Columbine teachers and staff teach most of these classes. The program is free of charge and takes place from 3-4:05 PM, Monday-Thursday.
Afterschool Enrichment Classes: These classes change every year, based upon student interest, parent interest, and school needs. The goal is to provide students with a wide array of fun academic and non- academic classes. The classes are free for the students who participate in the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. There is a fee for non low-income students and FRS can provide scholarships to families who need assistance to pay for the classes.
